El Yunque Tours is built on teaching and are driven to make sure that each guest young or old sees, smells and hears the natural wonders that are the El Yunque National Forest. As a guided tour outfitter our guides love to work with children and family groups, opening the eyes of the young through exploring and learning about Puerto Rico’s rainforest and the global importance that forests world wide play in the health of our home, planet earth. El Yunque rainforest is a wonders place but it is always wet and slippery, trails are only two to three foot wide at best and in many places have no railing systems making the trails and our tours not safe for those children under 6 years of age. Children 6 and older are welcome with adult supervision, we hope to see you and your family soon under the canopy, please contact El Yunque Tours, we can help!

Well this is one of those FAQ that we always get and for good reason, “IT’S A RAINFOREST” and it rains, so getting wet for the most part will happen! So come in clothes that can get wet and will repel water and cover you as when you are wet you get cold easy. Shoes are usually best with flat bottoms as most trails in the El Yunque National Forest are concrete and hiking boots are made for dirt and rocky surfaces and are slippery on the concrete. Having a swim suit under your walking clothes will work well as there is no place to change into swim gear if you are planning on swimming, also some type of water shoe works great for getting into and out of the rivers and waterfalls as the rocks can be tough on the feet! As the walk comes to a close and you are ready to load up and head on with the rest of your day, a change of dry clothing and shoes will help you enjoy the rest of your day if you end up wet in the RAINFOREST!
